Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan

Chartered Accountants Institute of Pakistan (ICAP), CA IN Pakistan is a professional accountant body in Pakistan. By July 2016, there were 8,819 members and outsiders working in Pakistan. Institute was established to manage accounting professionals in Pakistan on July 1, 1961. It is a legal autonomous body established under Chartered Accountants Ordinance 1961. With significant progress in this profession, CA Ordinance and Bio Laws were revised in 1983.

At the point of view of Accounting Professional, the Institute is again in the process of updating the Ordinance and bio-laws.


The ICAP course incorporates a mixture of ideological education and practical training, which runs a contract for a 3.5-year period and equals equality to the student with knowledge, capacity, skill and other features for professional accountant.

The Institute of Head Office is in Cliffton, Karachi, where it has its own location. There are also regional offices in Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan, Gujranwala, Sukkur, Quetta, Mirpur (AJK), Faisalabad and Hyderabad.
